How to avoid forklift corrosion
1. It is considered to select corrosion-resistant materials with good performance,
such as galvanized sheet, color coil, composite materials and engineering plastics.
2. Pay attention to the protection of exposed parts. Electrical equipment and joints shall be arranged inside,
or a protective cover shall be added. The electric forklift shall be provided with dust cover at the parts exposed to corrosion and easy to water.
For example, the exposed section of the piston rod of the tilt hydraulic cylinder and steering hydraulic cylinder is provided with a dust cover,
and the vehicle body is provided with exposed process holes and functional holes for waterproof plugs.
3. Considering the overall layout, prevent the accumulation of corrosive media on the forklift.
Avoid the enclosed area as far as possible, or keep the closed system well ventilated and drained.
For example, consider the ventilation and heat dissipation of the whole forklift for internal combustion of the forklift.
The exhaust gas generated by the engine shall be discharged from the lower counterweight as far as possible,
or from the upper counterweight through purification and cooling. For forward moving forklifts such as electric forks,
air windows can be opened to maintain heat dissipation and ventilation of the motor.
Liquid leakage holes are opened at the bottom of the battery box and an accumulator is installed.
4. Pay attention to prevent crevice corrosion, electrochemical corrosion, stress corrosion cracking.
For the loader, the inevitable gap structures such as engine hood welding shall be sealed with sealant.
For dissimilar metal connection, metal with close potential shall be selected as far as possible,
or insulation measures shall be taken to avoid electrochemical corrosion.
5. Uniform corrosion shall be considered in the design of parts and components,
and one or more anti-corrosion methods shall be selected.
The common methods for forklift protection include coating, electroplating, conversion film, antirust oil, grease, etc.
The corrosion resistance is also different with different processes.
The structure of parts shall facilitate the implementation of protection process, and process holes shall be set if necessary.
For example, the opening should be located so that the spray gun covers the entire surface.
Process holes shall be opened for chemical pretreatment workpieces such as roof support to prevent effusion.
