Matters needing attention of electric forklift battery "water replenishment"
1. During the charging and discharging process of the battery of electric forklift, the water in the electrolyte will gradually decrease due to electrolysis and evaporation,
resulting in the decrease of electrolytic liquid level.
If it is not supplemented in time, the combing speed of the battery plate will be accelerated and the service life of the battery will be shortened. Therefore,
it is necessary to regularly check and timely replenish distilled water (distilled water can be purchased in hospitals or chemical stores).
Warm tips: do not use pure drinking water instead, because the purified water contains a variety of trace elements and ions, which will aggravate the internal self discharge of the battery,
and strict self discharge of the battery will shorten the battery life.
2. When adding electrolyte or water to the battery of electric forklift truck, it should be noted that the liquid level is 10-15mm higher than the electrode plate; for the battery with two red lines,
the electrolyte should not exceed the upper red line. If there is no red line, observe that the electrolyte should not exceed the filter screen for adding liquid. If the electrolyte is too full,
it will overflow from the hole in the battery cover. Once it flows between the positive and negative poles of the battery, it will form a loop self discharge.
In this case, the electrolyte should be wiped off or washed with boiling water.
3. When adding liquid to the battery of electric forklift truck, if something falls into it accidentally, do not use metal objects to remove impurities;
if iron wire or copper wire is used to remove impurities, metal molecules will enter into the battery under the corrosion of sulfuric acid to form self discharge, which will affect the battery life.
4. If the battery is out of operation for more than 15 days, the negative (-) electrode wire (i.e. grounding wire) of the battery should be removed to avoid battery leakage.
