Precautions and operation methods for forklift turning and reversing
Forklifts operating in the enterprise, due to the short running distance, the number of U-turn and reversing is relatively large.
When the forklift is turning and reversing, the driver's vision will be restricted to a certain extent.
Therefore, restricted vision, imperfect observation, and other reasons cause more accidents when the vehicle turns around or reverses.
For this reason, there are the following precautions for the U-turn and reversing of the forklift
1. When making a U-turn, the forklift should choose a wide road or field as far as possible,
and make a U-turn from right to left. When making a U-turn, observe the front, back, left, and right conditions in advance,
send a U-turn signal in time, and make a U-turn without affecting the driving of other vehicles.
If you can't adjust the vehicle at a time, and when you need to reverse, you must carefully observe the situation behind the vehicle,
properly control the speed of the vehicle, and sound the whistle.
2. Reversing, when reversing in workshops, warehouses, freight yards, narrow roads, etc.,
someone should stand behind the forklift (a position that is easy for the driver to find) to direct the reversing.
When reversing, the forklift should not only pay attention to the rear of the vehicle,
but also take into account the position of the front wheel to avoid the front parts of the vehicle from encountering obstacles.
Forklifts are not allowed to reverse at intersections, bridges, tunnels, steep slopes and dangerous areas.
3. In the course of forklift operation and loading, unloading and handling operations, it is necessary to frequently reverse the truck.
Because the line of sight is restricted when reversing, the ability to feel weakened. Therefore,
it is difficult to grasp the direction and position of the forklift. In addition, during reverse steering,
the original front-wheel steering becomes rear-wheel steering, and the original forklift’s rear-wheel steering becomes front-wheel steering.
This is different from the usual subjective feeling of steering steering, and the position of steering steering has also changed. Reversing is not as smooth and convenient,
flexible and accurate as forward.
4. Usually, when reversing, you should first stop the forklift, see the surrounding situation,
choose the reversing route and target, and pay attention to whether there are vehicles, pedestrians, and animals in the front and back.
If an obstacle may be encountered on the reverse road, the driver should get out of the car and check if necessary,
and then hang the transmission in the appropriate reverse gear, honking the horn, and select the appropriate driving posture and operation method as required by the situation.
When reversing, pay attention to control the vehicle speed, not to be fast or slow, so as to prevent the starter from stalling due to lack of power,
or damage caused by excessive reversing.
